DT-QBS. Multi-frequency universal 4BTS IMSI/IMEI/TMSI catcher for backpack
|
|
The main functions and characteristics
The DT-QBS is quad-sector, software-defined radio base station system built for the special needs of applications like Search and Rescue (S&R), Portable Network in a Box (NiB), Cellular Identification, Managed Access, and so on.
The platform integrates four digital signal processors (DSPs) and four radio frequency (RF) transceivers. The RF transceivers support any frequency band between 400MHz and 6GHz. The platform has control interfaces to support four external RF front ends (power amplifiers, etc.)

![]() | The DT-QBS has a metal casing and can be ordered with or without a fan to accommodate different ambient temperature ranges. It also includes an onboard Environment Management IC (EMIC), which monitors and responds to changes in board temperature and input voltage, and handles other low level hardware management.
An optional “Keep Alive” battery can keep the device fully operational for approximately 5 to 10 minutes to allow “hot swap” of the external power supply.
The embedded Wi-Fi / Bluetooth module enables wireless connectivity to the platform, for example, for controlling from smartphones. It also includes a high sensitivity, 72-channel tracking GPS module for precise location tracking and clock synchronization. Internal Wi-Fi / Bluetooth and GPS antennas are also included. Wi-Fi monitoring requires a separately-orderable Wi-Fi module. The DT-QBS includes an SD card interface that can be used for scenario configuration, operation logging, and so on). UART, Ethernet, and user I2C interfaces are available via a digital expansion port. |
The DT-QBS can be ordered with an optional 3G/LTE UE module or an additional Wi-Fi module. The 3G/LTE UE module can serve as a backhaul interface for NiB applications, for controlling the device remotely. An additional Wi-Fi module includes support for Wi-Fi monitoring.
Each radio can be configured independently to operate as a GSM, UMTS, CDMA2000, or LTE base station.
Additionally, software support exists for cellular scanning (on all 3GPP standards), clock synchronization based on neighboring base stations, and many other features.
The host processor in the DT-QBS is the Freescale i.MX6. The DT-QBS ships with the Linux operating system, including all necessary Board Support Packages (BSPs) for various digital interfaces.
The platform also comes with On Board Management (OBM) software to provide management functions for DSP software booting, interfacing with EMIC, support for external RF front ends, and other hardware access support.
